The special thing about the Port wines of Quinta do Infantado is that they are predominantly less sweet than the Port of other brands. This gives them more power in the flavor, which is not muddled by the sweet content. The Port wines of Quinta do Infantado have therefore the flavor description medium-dry.
Very tight dark, almost black color with a purple edge. The bouquet has great complexity, almost colonial with coffee and spices.
The Vintage Port 1995 is just as good as the super 1994 when it comes to Vintage Port.
Tasting notes:
Very dark red colour with slight transparency at the edges. Aromas of plums, blueberries, cherries and dried figs. Still a baby and will probably have to mature for another 10 years. Plums and stewed plums on the nose. Taste is sweet with notes of plums, figs, cherries, cough syrup and licorice. The finish is medium. The rough edges have been smoothed out.
