This Vintage Port is produced mainly from Touriga Nacional grapes blended with Vinhas Velhas grapes, giving it a certain complexity and personality. The grapes for this wine were harvested from vineyards on the southern bank of the Douro River with the best wine of that year. Winemaker José Manuel Sousa Soares was dazzled by the maturation of the red grape varieties that provide good color and the highest levels of tannins ever tasted in his 24 years of experience. However, the harvest was premature because the levels of phenolic compounds had developed two weeks before the usual, meaning it was too early in terms of sugars and aromatic compounds. As a result, this wine got a complex color and tannins with great persistence and ripe fruit aromas. Presidential Vintage 2011 Port after two years of maturation and development, has reached a great aromatic potential, allowing to experience floral and berry aromas. This 2011 Vintage has a very limited production.

Reviews and awards:
92 points Roy Hersh;
16.5 points Jancis Robinson.
Wine Enthusiast 90 points: “So ripe, rich and tempered with acidity, this is already an attractive wine, the backbone of tannins takes on a velvet edge, perfumed, ripe and richly juicy, black fruit comes through strongly, full of sweetness. to have a medium-term future. ”
James Suckling 90 points: “Bright fruit and mineral character, medium to full body, medium sweet, firm tannins and a tough finish.” Very well made for now, better after 2018. ”
Robert Parker 89: The palate is soft and fleshy on entry. This is definitely a more approachable, quite savory Vintage Port with a pleasant, corpulent, spicy tinge that disappears a little too quickly.
