The special thing about the Port wines of Quinta do Infantado is that they are predominantly less sweet than the Port of other brands. This gives them more power in the flavor, which is not muddled by the sweet content. The Port wines of Quinta do Infantado have therefore the flavor description medium-dry.
Tasting note:
Deep red, but signs of early maturity at the margin; 95% opaque. Braised Victoria plums on the nose. Silky texture on entry, then ripe red apples before the spicy tannins make themselves known – but not aggressively so. Red apple skin dominates the pleasant finish with good length. Spicy cranberries disappear at the end of a long finish. Already drinking very well.
