A warm brick red color, an intense and complex aroma of orange peel, coffee, caramel, nuts. Very rich and creamy taste, reminiscent of citrus, tobacco and spices. Very long aftertaste.
Storage: Store upright in a cool dark place. The port will not develop significantly further in the bottle. Can be stored for several years without losing its freshness.
Serve slightly chilled, between 12 and 13 ° C, in a suitable glass. Goes well with all kinds of desserts, especially prepared with eggs or nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts …) and cheese board.
A decadently delicious wine with ripe full fruit and nut flavors. Very complex with an incredibly long finish.
Comments from the judging panel of the 2001 IWSC (International Wine & Spirit Competition):
A unanimous verdict – just great. Soft and nutty on the nose, but with a wonderful balance, fine taste and enormous length. A really good example of a perfect Tawny at its absolute peak.
