This Vintage Port is made from a blend of over 30 different indigenous grape varieties. All the grapes are carefully selected and footed in lagares for five days until brandy is added to stop fermentation. The juice was then aged for 19 months in old port barrels, after which the wine was bottled.
This Vintage is intense purple. Concentrated in the nose of ripe fruit combined with intense floral notes. Excellent concentration of pear, chocolate and firm tannins.
Tasting notes: a delicious wine, rich, reckless and beautifully balanced. It is an elegant and fresh style, sultry and spicy, with black fruit, cherries, lots of power and tannins, a classic style, not the deepest, but very tasty. Long term 15-25 years.
Dark color. Ripe and rich with a savoury intensity and great depth. Complex and spicy, sweet, but tight. On the palate, it is rich, ripe, concentrated and structured, supported by a long sweet finish.
Dark, rich, fruit, spicy and dark chocolate aromas, toasty and perfumed on the nose. Very rich, spicy and intense on the palate and concentrated with a nice core of sweet fruit. Very accessible sweet taste with a good tannin structure.
Dark red color with a slight edge of violet color. Cool semi-sweet aroma of dark red/black fruit and mix of spices (incl. pepper). You’ll be in a good mood as soon as you experience such an aroma! On the palate, full-bodied, powerful but at the same time elegant with a high concentration of fruit. Despite the sweetness in the beginning, it finishes a bit on the dry side with nice tannins, which are well balanced. Medium length in the finish. This Vintage Port is now at a great level.
